Alima, the 23-year-old Ivorian composer, singer and accomplished musician, has announced a new album called Coming Soon.
Alima's Last Album was The Key of Paradise
"After many years wondering and searching for inspiration; battling and overcoming loss, hurt and betrayal, I am happy to say that my long overdue album is finally finished and coming out soon God-willing," Alima stated. "It has been three years since my last official album.(The Key Of Paradise) I can honestly say from the bottom of my heart, this is my finest work to date simply because you were all part of the whole creative process. Alima's Music Promotes Messages of Love, Mercy, Peace and Tolerance
Alima has been featured in Africa as "Islam's biggest and best vocal women in Africa." The artist has appeared on the covers of dozens of mainstream publications throughout the African continent. Alima is devoutly spiritual and often uses her art and music as a means of promoting the messages of love, mercy, peace and tolerance while also encouraging women and the youth to be proud of their identity.
Alima's songs are said to have revolutionized the African Muslim world and given birth to a new genre of modern Islamic music. Alima was born in the southern Ivorian town of Adzope and grew up in the Koumassi district of Abidjan. She learned to sing at a very young age, demonstrating a keen interest in singing and composing.
Alima's Albums Have Sold More Than 100,000 Copies In West Africa
Alima's first album, God Has The Supreme Power, was self-produced and released in 2004 and attained a huge success. Her second album, The Key of Paradise, was released in 2007. Alima's two albums have sold more than 100,000 copies in West Africa. Her concerts have attracted huge audiences across West Africa, including 6,000 in attendance in the Ivory Coast capital city Yamoussoukro and more than 15,000 in Burkina Faso.
Alima has held concerts all around Africa and performs her songs in several different languages including French, Arabic and Malinki. Her albums have been very popular among Muslim women and young Muslims in particular in her home country of Ivory Coast as well as in Burkina Faso and Mali-where 3,000 attended her concert.
Alima's Charity Work in Cote D'Ivoire and Other Parts of Africa
Alima is known for her charity work that she conducts on her own time to help the needy all around Cote D'Ivoire. She has traveled to other parts of Africa, visiting orphanages to raise awareness for sick children and AIDS victims and urged prayers for peace,recovery and donations.
